Minnesota Monarch Sheds 3 (RIGHT)
This set of sheds, (along with Minnesota Monarch sheds #3 left, item 0254) from 1991, is from two years after this deer produced the world record set (see item #0027). With its left mate, they score an outstanding 182 0/8" without a spread measurement. The distinctive characteristics of this particular championship deer can easily be seen in the configuration of tines and droptine. This deer came into a yard near Ely, Minnesota year after year, as they were often fed by the locals. It is estimated that the deer was 11 1/2 years old when he dropped these trophy sheds. The fact that this deer was able to grow antlers over a probable 200" at this ripe old age is extremely rare.
