Bannister Mule Deer
This colossal mule deer was shot by the late Herb Bannister from British Columbia, Canada in 1943. While trying to get it out of the bush the horse they were using to pack out the buck, decided not to co-operate and the deer fell and broke off the four tines that come off the right side. Those tines were repaired, but because of that, it can not be officially scored with the repaired points.. The official score is 343 1/8 non-typical and with the broken off points it would have been the #2 mule deer in the world. There are 57 points on this buck and it is 37 inches wide. There is a lot of history behind this buck seeing as how it only surfaced in 1999. It is featured in Big Buck magazine the Summer 2000 cover issue.
