About Antlers by Klaus

A man in a dark shirt carefully paints or restores a large antler, which is partially covered with blue tape, while seated indoors on a tiled floor.

Antlers by Klaus was founded by artist and whitetail enthusiast Klaus Lebrecht in western Wisconsin over three decades ago. What began as a pursuit of better taxidermy skills became a lifelong passion when Klaus trained under master taxidermist Joe Meder in Iowa and discovered the art of antler replicas.

Today, Antlers by Klaus is known for heirloom-grade antler reproductions, antler repair/restoration, reproducing habitat elements, and wildlife display work trusted by hunters, collectors, outfitters, retailers, and museums.

Where Antlers by Klaus began

Antlers by Klaus began with a simple goal: create antler reproductions that look right, feel natural, and honor the original trophy.

Klaus Lebrecht’s early work in taxidermy led him to study under Joe Meder, where he was introduced to the craft of antler replicas. That experience shaped the direction of the company and set the standard that still guides the studio today.

The goal has never been volume for its own sake. It has always been quality over quantity, with every piece judged by realism, finish, and long-term display value.

What are our specialties?

Antlers by Klaus specializes in high-quality antler reproductions and wildlife display work for customers who care about realism.

Our work includes:

Whether the project is a single whitetail rack, a lost trophy recreation, a museum specimen, or a complete display, the same standard applies. The finished piece should look natural, display well, and respect the animal that inspired it

Antlers by Klaus serves individuals, museums, and businesses across North America

Antlers by Klaus works with hunters, outdoorsmen, collectors, taxidermists, outfitters, lodges, retailers, museums, designers, and families who want dependable antler and wildlife display work.

Some customers want a second set of antlers for a home, cabin, office, or family member. Others need a lost, stolen, burned, or damaged rack recreated. From hunters and collectors to some of North America’s most prominent museums and retailers, people trust Anters by Klaus artisans to bring an eye for realism and quality to every project.

What makes our work different?

A great antler reproduction is more than a copy of a shape. It needs the right beam flow, tine structure, mass, spread, burr detail, color, surface texture, and natural character.

That is why every project receives close attention to form and finish. The details matter. Darker bases, lighter tips, worn edges, rubbed surfaces, weathered tone, velvet texture, skull detail, and proper display balance all affect how believable the final piece feels.

The goal is simple: create wildlife art that looks right from across the room and still holds up when viewed or photographed up close.

We blend modern technology with old fashioned artistry

The craft has continued to evolve. Along with traditional hand finishing skills, Antlers by Klaus now uses modern tools such as 3D scanning, 3D modeling, and 3D printing for many custom projects.

This technology helps capture accurate details, while the hand-finishing process brings back the natural color, detail, and character that make the piece feel lifelike.

Modern tools help improve our accuracy and efficiency. Our hand finishing and dedication to craftsmanship makes the final piece believable.
