Custom Antler Reproductions

Duplicate your once-in-a-lifetime trophy with a custom horn or antler reproduction built from your original specimen. Antlers by Klaus now uses advanced 3D scanning, 3D modeling, and 3D printing to create accurate replica antlers for hunters, collectors, outfitters, museums, taxidermists, and families who want a second set to display and want to shield their originals from risk.

What is a custom antler reproduction?

A custom antler reproduction is a detailed replica made to match the shape, scale, and character of your original rack. Using 3D scanning and digital modeling, our digital artists can capture the original antlers with a high level of accuracy, refine the digital file, and create a physical reproduction that is ready for finishing and display.

The goal is not to create a generic set of antlers. The goal is to duplicate your antlers down to the smallest detail, including beam flow, tine structure, mass, spread, burr detail, texture, and the small natural features that make your original set one of a kind.

How 3D scanning improves our antler reproductions

3D scanning gives us a detailed digital record of the original antlers. This helps preserve shape, proportion, tine placement, beam curves, and unique character before the reproduction is made.

This digital approach is especially helpful for valuable trophies, family heirlooms, record-class racks, and projects where accuracy matters. It can also make future copies easier, since the digital model can be stored and used again if another reproduction is needed in the future.

What role does 3D modeling play?

After the antlers are scanned, the digital model can be cleaned up, refined, and prepared for production. This step allows us to correct small scanning issues, strengthen delicate areas, adjust attachment points, and prepare the file for production.

For some projects, 3D scanning and modeling can also help recreate missing or damaged areas, mirror a broken side to create a matched set from a single shed, or support custom display planning.

Are all the reproduction antlers 3D printed?

Many custom antler reproductions can now be created using 3D printing as part of the production process. Depending on the project, the printed piece may be used as the final reproduction, a production master, or part of a larger finishing and display workflow.

Once the form is created, the antlers are finished by hand in our Wisconsin studio to bring back natural color, tone, texture, and field character. The technology helps us build the shape accurately. The finishing work by our artists helps the piece feel lifelike.

If your project involves unusual antlers, horns, skulls, sheds, or a one-of-a-kind display, contact our studio. Many custom reproduction projects begin with a simple conversation about what you have and how you want it displayed.

How our custom antler reproduction process works

Every project is handled with care because the original rack matters. The process usually begins with photos, measurements, and a conversation about your display goals.

A typical 3D reproduction project may include:

  1. Consultation and quote: Send photos, species, measurements, score if known, and display goals.
  2. Digital capture: The original antlers are scanned to create a detailed 3D file.
  3. 3D modeling: The scan is cleaned up, refined, and prepared for production.
  4. 3D printing or production: The physical reproduction is created from the digital model.
  5. Hand finishing: The antlers are painted and detailed for realistic color, tone, and character.
  6. Display planning: The finished piece can be used for a wall display, skull mount, shoulder mount, pedestal, or custom project.

Why choose Antlers by Klaus for your custom antler replicas?

Antlers by Klaus combines modern 3D technology with the hand-finished realism the studio is known for. A scan can capture the geometry, but the final piece still needs the right color, texture, tone, and natural character to look believable.

Our work focuses on accurate structure, natural finish, strong display quality, and respect for the original trophy. Antlers by Klaus is trusted by some of North America’s largest outdoor retailers and museums when they need high-quality reproductions, repairs, or restoration work for important specimens and displays.

Whether you need one duplicate rack or a complete mounted presentation, we can help you choose the best reproduction and finishing path.
